HOW YOU CAN HELP
Discuss with your child the changing of the weather and the seasons. The brighter evenings are coming our way! What do bulbs need to help them grow. Talk about sizes, colours, smells. What is the time in different countries, being aware of the world and the differences between their seasons. Continue to encourage your child with their concentration and help them increase their motivation to learn new concepts. Read to your child any fairy tale stories and ask them questions about the sequence of the story. Encourage your child to recall shapes and introduce the oval (egg) shape. Talk about pattern making of an Easter egg. This is a great way to get your child learning about shapes, colours and their own designs! Discuss where eggs come from. Compare size of eggs, encourage curiousity.
TRIP TO BARK AND WACKY WORKSHOPS
Please sign consent form in front hallway for trip on Friday 11th March (group 1 children).
After Easter we are arranging a trip to Portrush countryside centre and the children can be taken on a journey of Northern Ireland’s wildlife and heritage found under the sea and along our coasts.
A trip to Amanda’s caravan in Benone will be arranged for May / June time. We did this last year and even the bus driver didn’t want to go home. We will go to the beach, the play park and then bbq at the caravan.
End of year trip to Belfast Zoo. This will be in the month of June. This has been very successful in past years.
OTHER
Cash for clobber – we are entered into a competition and need as many filled bags of clobber. If we win first prize we could receive £750. PLEASE GET FILLING!!! Bags are available from staff. The competition closes 31/5/11. Lorraine will store filled bags in her garage so please bring them in as soon as you wish.
